The Role
Our client is currently looking for an emphatic Design Engineer. The successful candidate will oversee the introduction of new projects from initiation to production. The successful candidate will have experience in New Product Introduction and will be familiar with the entire process.
Duties and responsibilities:

To take ownership of the development of new products as well as the tooling/manufacturing process.

To produce drawings as well as data in support of product development, which includes:

Concepts of machinery, jigs, assemblies and tooling.

Detailing engineering drawings

Creating engineering bills of materials.

Data entry on ERP system.

To instruct and to advise for training in your department where appropriate.

To develop and build relationships with customers, suppliers or contractors.

To ensure the requirements of any design qualification.

To create documents for specifications, capital requests, technical reports etc.
The Candidate
- Minimum of HNC in mechanical engineering or mechanical design.
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Solidworks 3D/AutoCAD 2D experience required.
- Drafting to standard BS8888.
- Ability to produce a defined as well as accurate assembly.
