Yard Operative with Forklift

- Hours: Monday to Friday, 0800 - 1600
- Salary: £27,000 per annum
Reed Recruitment are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Yard Operative with forklift experience to join a growing company in Leith, Edinburgh. This role is both challenging and rewarding, perfect for someone who enjoys a dynamic working environment and is capable of regularly lifting heavy items.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Operating a counterbalance forklift to manage inventory within the yard.
- Ensuring the efficient handling of goods in, including inspection and storage.
- Organising and preparing outbound deliveries to meet schedules.
- Regularly lifting heavy metal items up to 30kg as part of daily tasks.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in the yard.
- Conducting regular stock checks and updating inventory records.
- Collaborating with the team to optimise yard operations and space utilisation.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift licence with at least 12 months of experience.
- Proven experience as a Yard Operative or Storeman.
- Familiarity with goods in processes and organising outbound deliveries.
- Clean driving licence with a minimum of 2 years driving experience.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical fitness to handle manual tasks and lift heavy items up to 30kg.
