Assistant Group Payroll Services Manager

The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an

Assistant Group Payroll Services Manager

to join our Payroll Team based in our Retford office.

The Payroll Services Team are passionate, highly organised and pride themselves on providing outstanding transactional payroll support to approximately 3,000 colleagues and managers across the PIB Group, in a high volume, fast paced environment. The role requires excellent attention to detail and exceptional customer service and proven experience of payroll.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of the end-to-end payroll processing for multiple payrolls to ensure smooth running of the payroll function.
  • Contribute to the training and development of the payroll team, guiding them and tailoring training plans to fit the purpose.
  • Assist the Group Payroll Services Manager to assess long term payroll trends.
  • Prepare and complete audits and reporting when due.
  • Liaising with high-level stakeholders and management.??
  • Handle and resolve payroll queries in a timely manner and with care.
  • Revise and process auto-enrolment for our company pension scheme.
  • Oversee our annual P11D process and submissions to HMRC.
  • Analyse, process and report on Gender Pay Gap.
  • Revise the team's Standing Operating Practices (SOPs) to ensure their actions reflect the written processes, current legislation, and the new HR and Payroll system.
  • Meet your targets and those of the team as a whole.
  • Assist in compliance with all the payroll financial and legal requirements, responsibilities and obligations.
  • Assist with accounting procedures and systems used by the organisation.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly payroll statistics.
  • Assist with the recruitment of team members, subject to agreed criteria.
  • Assist in developing plans for team activities to include payroll strategy to achieve agreed targets and effective planning.
  • Set an example for team members of commitment, payroll and financial activities, work ethics and habits and personal character.
  • Maintain accurate payroll, associated financial and other records and activities.
  • Adhere to all organisation policies and procedures.

Experience:

  • Must have experience in leading and managing a team.?
  • Must have at least 5 years' continuous experience working in a payroll function with end-to-end payroll lifecycles.?
  • Must have excellent customer service and attention to detail.??
  • Must have excellent stakeholder management.??
  • Must have Tupe/ Integration experience.
  • Must perform under pressure.??
  • Global experience is preferred.
  • Workday system knowledge is preferred.
