Head of Network Engineering will ensure the commercial & internal networks effectively support global business operations, delivering required performance and availability to support SLAs, providing appropriate security and compliance, whilst minimising costs. Responsible for maintenance, support and continuous improvement of existing networks. Responsibilities also include architectural design of new services including digital transformation to cloud services, and service improvements, establishing and maintaining global capabilities and management of third party suppliers. Building and developing team capability to deliver operational excellence.

This role is based in our head office in Berkshire.

This is an office-based vacancy and as such we expect all applicants to be willing to commute to our offices a minimum of 4 days per week as per our clients hybrid working policy.

Key responsibilities.

Support Services - delivering monitoring, alerting and reporting

  • Select, implement and drive value from monitoring tools on the different platforms.
  • Implement alerting, supported by Standar
  • Operating Procedures, enabling pre-incident trend response and empowering global service teams to execute remedial action in line with service objectives.
  • Provide regular management service reports supporting SLA's and delivering industry leading metrics.
  • Take ownership of Network Problems, perform root cause analysis and implement root-cause remediation.

Maintenance and development of customer facing and corporate networks and associated security

  • Ownership of global perimeter security, policies, platforms and regular testing
  • Continually review security threats and pro-actively mitigate prioritising business risk
  • Evaluate, approve and update hardware, software & firmware to maximise service, support and security
  • Monitor, review and optimise network performance to align cost and service
  • Maximise customer service confidence and support contractual requirements through network service improvement, delivering incident reduction.

Continuous improvement and documentation

  • Ensure capacity, availability and performance requirements are measured & achieved, delighting customers.
  • Review and adopt innovative technologies pro-actively, maintaining and leading capability against industry standards/benchmarks.
  • Manage the Disaster recovery mechanisms and processes, incl. backup services and emergency control procedures.
  • Drive out unnecessary complexity, improving standardisation and supportability.
  • Ensure all documentation is updated and maintained, providing reference material (i.e. SOPs & clear status).
