My client is a world-renowned packaging manufacturer for the last 50 years + who focus on innovation and development of protective packaging. The packaging business delivers packaging solutions that protect essential goods within food service sectors, healthcare, industrial, ecommerce and much more.

Business Development Manager

£50,000 - £65,000 (DOE) – OTE £70,000

15% bonus, but uncapped earning potential, Pension matched 4% Health Care (BUPA), sick pay, 25 days plus bank holidays, Mercedes Hybrid Car as well as a clear path for progression

Location - Midlands UK

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • You will have a proven experience in developing and winning new business in the UK as well as being able to manage a budget target of £1.5 million pounds worth of business.
  • Be driven to succeed and will also have the ability to work with a highly effective sales support team in order to maximise the service of the company.
  • Deal with new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, services prospection, negotiation and commercial follow up of UK customers and branching out further afield acting in the markets targeted by the organisation.
  • You will be able to manage your time and diary effectively to achieve set KPI's.
  • You will be working with internal stakeholders on an international scale to ensure a smooth transition through the sales process.
  • Promote the company and its business.

To apply you MUST have or hold:

  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office Software.
  • Strong account management and new business skills.
  • Sound experience in a sales environment is key and ideally from the following industries: Packaging, FMCG, Distribution or other relative industry.
  • Strong technical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbally.
  • Experience of closing and negotiation techniques.
  • Adaptable and flexible on managing workload.
