Established for over 30 years, they have provided services alongside a variety of statutory and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) colleagues in Surrey and its boarders. Location

– Office base is Leatherhead and working within a hybrid model (WFH) but you will also be working from different sites which include Guildford, Epsom and Redhill. Own transport is essential and mileage is paid

You will be working within a service that has been awarded a Gold Lived Experience Charter award which is the highest award available within the scheme this service operates within.

The SUN facilitator with lived experience will be working closely with a SUN specialist clinician to deliver regular Service User Network (SUN) groups in different community-based locations.

The SUN provides community-based, open access facilitated peer support groups and aims to help people develop effective ways of coping, reduce emergencies, and improve access to appropriate services.

As a Service User Network (SUN) Group Facilitator you will be offering a combination of online and face to face group sessions working with individuals who are may or may not have had a formal diagnosis of Personality Disorder and will have experienced longstanding emotional difficulties, isolation and are very likely to demonstrate unhelpful patterns of behaviour. You will work with them to facilitate access to the services and other sources of support that is available to them, to encourage and motivate individuals to take an active role in their own recovery, promote and support empowerment.

This post is subject to a DBS check. Please note past drug and/or alcohol or criminality history will not necessarily discount you from undertaking this role

Our ideal applicant will have/be;

  • Personal lived experience of mental health difficulties
  • Knowledge of mental health and recovery approach
  • Ability to reflect on and appropriately share your own life experiences and personal experiences of mental ill health as part of the facilitating role of the groups
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ideally you will have practical experience in facilitating / co-facilitating groups or of being a member of a support or therapy group but this is not essential
  • Ability to work co-operatively as part of a multidisciplinary team from different locations and to travel independently to these locations
