Job Title: Operational Manager
Duration: 6 months, extensions likely
Location: Gloucester/Hybrid (four days per week in the office)
Salary: £37.42 per hour PAYE

Are you an experienced leader looking for an exciting opportunity to manage a dynamic team in the utilities sector? Our client, a leading organisation in the utilities industry, is seeking a Team Manager to join their Network Services department. As the Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading a multi-disciplinary team and driving excellent performance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a diverse team, fostering a culture of collaboration, customer focus, innovation, and trust.
- Ensure the construction, maintenance, and repair of assets within a specified location, in accordance with Engineering Directives.
- Ensure the team delivers high-quality customer service and achieves performance targets.
- Represent the team both internally and externally, speaking on behalf of the organisation.
- Manage unit costs and expenditure, keeping projects within budget and aligned with annual programmes.
- Embrace and adapt to a changing working environment, leading change effectively.
- Set clear expectations and direction for team members, review progress, and take action to ensure results are delivered.
- Foster a trusting and inclusive team environment, supporting colleagues' well-being and enhancing communication.
- Support the development of a diverse workforce, providing constructive feedback and maximising potential.
- Ensure contractor activities meet expectations.
- Provide the team with the necessary facilities, tools, equipment, and vehicles for their work.
Requirements:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to empower and lead through others.
- Understanding of building a positive work culture and future challenges in the utilities sector.
- Knowledge of the changing electricity distribution operating environment and its impact on leadership and team culture.
- Appreciation of the value of a diverse workforce in driving business success.
- Proven track record of delivering results in line with expectations or exceeding them.
