Senior Group Reporting Accountant

Goldhawk Associates are partnering with a prominent engineering firm to find a new Senior Group Reporting Accountant. This key role is instrumental in delivering the year-end financial statements and monthly management accounts. It will enhance management account alignment, expand group control, and support long-term contract accounting reviews across the company. Reporting directly to the Head of Reporting within the central finance team, this position offers substantial exposure to the European senior management team.

Team Responsibilities:

  • Group Financial Accounts: Preparation and review of consolidated accounts.
  • UK Statutory Accounts: Preparation and review.
  • Technical Accounting Papers: Drafting to support the year-end audit process.
  • Monthly Management Accounts: Preparation of select accounts.
  • Long-term Contracts: Review accounting positions in accordance with IFRS 15.
  • Control Environment: Assist in testing controls.
  • External Reporting: Support covenant and stakeholder reporting.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Assist with various reporting tasks as needed.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified Accountant: ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Deadline-Oriented: Proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Management Reporting: Experience in consolidated management reporting and board-level support.
  • Multi-Currency Consolidations: Experience with large group consolidations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong, especially with senior finance personnel.
  • Commercial Awareness: Good understanding of commercial contexts.
  • Analytical and Detail-Oriented: Highly meticulous and flexible.
  • Industry Experience: Engineering or construction industry experience preferred.
  • Professional Experience: At least two years post-qualification in a top ten accountancy firm.
  • Team Ethic: Strong, with a willingness to share knowledge.
  • Ambitious and Confident: Possesses a proactive "can do" attitude.
  • Critical Thinking: Capable of challenging conventional thinking.
  • Judgement and Presentation Skills: Strong in both areas.
  • Energetic and Collaborative: Committed, enthusiastic, and resilient.
