We have an exciting opportunity to join our financial accounting and reporting team as Finance Manager, responsible for the resource planning preparation for statutory accounts completion. The teams purpose is to ensure all monthly reporting into the centralised group function is accurate and timely, lead the external audit process to appropriate sign-off (interim and year end), complete the statutory accounts in accordance with international accounting standards and maintain and review the integrity of the balance sheet.

As Finance Manager you will regularly review progress vs plan flagging any risks or issues, liaise with a number of key individuals in group finance to agree/obtain key information and act as a key point of contact/liaison for external auditors. You will also be responsible for:

  • Communicating when required with key stakeholders with the UK business & Group to ensure all aspects of the accounts are complete.
  • Continuously reviewing processes ensuring they are as efficient as possible.
  • Analysing and interpreting large data sets from multiple sources in differing formats
  • Management of part qualified accountants on specific activities such as balance sheet reporting and key elements within the vast pension process.
  • Co-ordinating external audit being a key point of contact between the business and the auditors.
  • Preparing ad-hoc reports analysis for internal and external stakeholders
  • Upholding a key understanding of UK tax requirements
  • Keeping up to date with current changes to international accounting standards to ensure accurate reporting within key financial statements, providing technical support to sector colleagues on a wide range of accounting matters.

The successful Finance Manager will be:

  • Qualified in ACA, CIMA, ACCA (or equivalent)
  • Highly numerical and analytical
  • Able to communicate oral and written information concisely and logically
  • Able to analyse and evaluate information
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence internal and external parties
  • Able to effectively plan and organise own work
  • Able to take on a broad spectrum of work under pressure and to deliver in agreed timescales
  • Up to date on current and planned changes to international accounting standards
  • Experienced in SAP/Cognos (desirable)
