Business Systems Manager

The Opportunity

I am delighted to be supporting this national services business as they seek an experienced manager to lead their business systems team. You will be responsible for developing and delivering strategies to improve the functionality and security of the BI platform and bespoke Business Applications they support.

The business operates a hybrid working model where the person will be expected to be onsite 1-2 days a week.

The Role

As a key member of the IT team, the Business Systems manager will have key responsibility for the management and improvement of the Business Intelligence and Business Applications function. With a team of professionals across the Data, Visualisation and Application Management sphere's you will be responsible for their engagement, training and management as they work on their specific projects. Working with key stakeholders from across the business you will prioritise the teams work in line with wider business transformation initiatives. Specifically you will:

  • Stay up to date on all Contract reporting requirements and changes
  • Prioritise team's workload appropriately
  • Maintain current knowledge of software updates, new functionality or enhancements to be able to make future state recommendations
  • Implement appropriate solutions and changes in partnership with suppliers and using proven project and change management methodologies, to keep Totally's business systems fit for purpose and meeting business needs
  • Contribute to the overall production and testing of the Business continuity and Disaster recovery plans
  • Produce Policies and procedures in regard to Business systems.
  • Contribute to the identification, management, and resolution of IM&T risks and act as a part of the IT risk management team
  • Proactively seek opportunities from across the organisation to improve the Business Systems
  • Be responsible for maintaining documentation and change control processes associated with the Business Systems to a high and consistent standard
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT systems by assisting in the implementation and embedding of IT Best practice using tools such as ITIL and ISO 27001
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective working relations with all stakeholders
  • Contribute to regular on-call management rota

The Person

As well as being an experienced people manager, used to have managed application teams, you will understand change management processes and possess good business analysis and project management skills. Though the role will not be technically hands on you will need to understand data management/governance and be able contribute to the strategic thinking of how Business Intelligence can further develop decision making. Healthcare experience will be beneficial though not essential.
