Management Accountant

As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial management for the company. Your responsibilities encompass a wide range of financial tasks, from handling monthly management accounts to compliance with local tax regulations. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to grow into a Finance Manager position in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monthly Management Accounts:

  • Prepare and take ownership of monthly management accounts.

  • EC Sales, Dispatches, and Arrivals Declarations:

  • Handle monthly EC sales, dispatches, and arrivals declarations.

  • Quarterly VAT Returns:

  • Ensure timely submission of quarterly VAT returns.

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations:

  • Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Year-End Accounts and Audit:

  • Assist with year-end accounts and participate in audits.

  • Credit Control Duties:

  • Manage credit control processes.

  • Cashflow Reporting:

  • Monitor and report on cashflow.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities.

  • Business Line Gross Margin and Profitability Analysis:

  • Analyse business line gross margins and overall profitability.

  • Finance Initiatives:

  • Lead initiatives to enhance financial reporting consistency and efficiency.

  • Ad-Hoc Projects:

  • Undertake additional projects and duties as needed.

  • Monthly Travel:

  • Be prepared for monthly travel to the Netherlands (3-5 days per month).

  • Track Record:

  • Demonstrate an extensive track record and experience in accounting or a similar role.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualifications:

  • Hold a qualification as a CIMA/ACA/ACCA accountant or be qualified by experience (QBE).

  • Tax and Compliance Knowledge:

  • Possess knowledge of local and European tax regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Language Skills:

  • Communicate fluently in English at a business level.

  • Excel Proficiency:

  • Excel skills, including Vlookups and pivot tables, are essential.

  • Advantageous Experience:

  • Familiarity with Exact, PowerBI, and Netsuite.

  • Organizational Skills:

  • Be highly organized and adaptable during month-end, year-end, and budget cycles.

  • Proactive Approach:

  • Take a hands-on and proactive approach to tasks.

  • Self-Motivation:

  • Work independently and collaboratively within an international team.

  • Possess good interpersonal skills.

  • Adaptability:

  • Embrace and manage change constructively.

  • Communication Skills:

  • Communicate effectively in both written and oral English. Dutch language skills are advantageous.
