We are seeking a Science Teacher to join our outstanding and oversubscribed secondary school. The ideal candidate will be a passionate, talented, and rigorous practitioner ready to contribute to our journey of maintaining an exceptional educational environment. This role offers the unique opportunity to deliver and develop a bespoke Science curriculum tailored for the needs of the 21st century.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Teach all Sciences at KS3 and KS4, with the aim to teach within your specialism at KS4 and KS5.
  • Contribute to CPD across the school, sharing best practices, planning, resources, and maintaining an ‘open door' teaching policy.
  • Ensure science has a high profile across the school by offering vibrant and exciting learning opportunities.
  • Organise resources to promote a purposeful environment for teaching and learning, integrating traditional and innovative pedagogies.
  • Extend the curriculum through Innovation Days, trips, and enrichment programmes, including managing peripatetic teachers.
  • Develop project-led learning that links to the world of work, further and higher education, or the local community.
  • Deploy other adults effectively within the faculty and in the classroom, involving them in planning and managing student learning.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree at 2.1 or higher in a related discipline.
  • A-level standard or equivalent, with excellent current ability to answer questions up to A-level in subject specialism.
  • Qualified teacher status through a PGCE, GTP, or equivalent.
  • Experience in managing and leading groups of students/young people.
  • Experience in designing a curriculum at KS5 and producing high-quality teaching materials.
  • Evidence of continually improving student outcomes and effective leadership.
  • Up-to-date subject knowledge, including current scientific innovations and technologies.
