ASEND tuition supports SEND pupils and continues their learning while they cannot access school or don't have a school place. We are looking for an empathetic tutor who has experience in Key Stage 2 to tutor an autistic pupil in West Drayton.

Working hours: 2 hours per day, 2 days per week (during school hours)
Pay: £38 per hour

Extra note: the hours may increase depending on pupil progress
What ASEND Tuition Is
We are looking for inspirational tutors to support children and young people with SEND West Drayton. We support pupils with SEND who are not attending school for a number of reasons including Mental Health issues, or lack of a suitable school place. We aim to prepare them for a return to mainstream or special school.
We tutor pupils of all ages face-to-face within school times, and in a range of settings including homes, schools, community centres and out in the community. Our tuition is completely pupil-focused and can target developing early learning, following an academic curriculum, providing emotional support or developing life skills. We need a wide range of tutors to support our pupils to meet their specific needs and ensure good progress. We work very hard to match each tutor with pupils who can most benefit from their skills and expertise.

About The Pupil
Our pupil is a 10 year old girl who is autistic, has social anxiety and is diagnosed with ADHD and Tourette's. She is a bright and kind child who loves to help others and has a big imagination. Once she finds a topic of interest, she is eager to learn more and likes to share facts with others as a result she knows a lot. She loves talking about her pet gecko and has a creative streak as she likes drawing and making up stories. She has an interest in manga and dragons and you can find her enjoying Taekwondo lessons and gaming in her free time.
This young person has some difficulty with changes and loud noises so would need a tutor who is able to work on a consistent routine and provide a calm environment. Someone who has experience with working on strategies to regulate anxiety would be essential. The ideal candidate should also be able to support literacy and numeracy at Key Stage 2 level to a pupil who is confident in these areas.
About you:
- You'll have some experience with SEN: ASD, Anxiety, ADHD and SEMH
- You may be an experienced tutor or teacher or have experience working with children in a therapeutic way
- You'll have a passion for helping pupils overcome any barriers to learning and difficulties with engagement
- You'll be good at building rapport and strong relationships with children and their families - we work closely with families to create a plan
- Ideally, have some experience of helping children with their learning
- Have the ability to motivate and inspire pupils
- Use a person-centred approach in their work
- Make the wellbeing, achievement, and progress of your pupils central to everything that you plan and do
- Have the determination and energy to bring about continuous improvement.
