Opportunity:

My client, a leader in RF and Microwave technology, is seeking a skilled Microwave Filter Design Engineer to join their team. You will work on a range of products from concept through to volume production, supporting telecommunications and defense sectors. With access to cutting-edge design tools, experienced engineers, and in-house RF/mmW manufacturing, this is an excellent opportunity to develop and showcase your skills in designing new products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of filter and sub-system design, including simulation, prototyping, and validation.
  • Contribute to R&D efforts for next-generation filter solutions.
  • Support the Sales team during the quotation phase, providing technical correspondence with customers.
  • Prepare and review design documentation (design logbooks, data packs, peer reviews).
  • Ensure that designs meet technical, schedule, and cost constraints, and are fully verified and documented.
  • Participate in and initiate design reviews to mitigate risk.
  • Conduct design verification and validation, including test specifications, reports, and reliability testing.
  • Maintain a comprehensive design compliance matrix.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with manufactured products, developing diagnostic procedures.

Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant Degree (or equivalent), preferably in RF/Communications Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in Microwave Filter design, including tolerance/yield analysis and DFM.
  • Proficient in RF design tools such as Microwave Office and CST.
  • Hands-on experience tuning filters using VNA's, conducting power handling and temperature tests.
  • Capable of achieving UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
