Operations Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager for a well-established international client based in Pembroke.

Job Overview:

The Operations Manager role is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the manufacturing and assembly facility. The ideal candidate will have a background in a manufacturing/production environment, with extensive experience in quality and manufacturing engineering. Additionally, experience in safety and some HR management is preferred. The selected candidate will be well-versed in production leadership, quality initiatives, H&S regulations, and BSI standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage production teams through the Production Controller.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., HSE, BSI) and internal policies.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for key customers and organizations.
  • Liaise between operations teams, engineering, and sales departments to ensure customer requirements/specifications are accurately captured and communicated.
  • Monitor and ensure the accurate capture of completed work for efficiency monitoring.
  • Lead reviews of process operation, safety, and auditing systems.
  • Oversee quality monitoring and production control processes.
  • Raise and update risks and opportunity action plans in line with QMS.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in production management and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational and manufacturing health & safety, with safety management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Significant knowledge of quality management, ensuring adherence to policies and protocols.
  • Extensive understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • HR management experience.
  • HSE compliance (COSHH, risk assessments, method statements, contractor management, etc).
  • Experience with process improvement and production efficiency improvement.
  • Ability to liaise with insurance inspectors in line with legislative compliance.

  • Ensure timely completion of production processes.
  • Maintain minimal quality defects.
  • Uphold BSI Standards.
  • Drive process improvements and production efficiency.
