Service Lead - Counterparty Risk

Quantile offers market-leading optimisation services that reduce counterparty risk, notional and capital requirements to increase the efficiency and liquidity of derivatives markets, improve returns for clients, and make the financial system safer.

We are part of LSEG's Post Trade division, where we connect a network of participants and use advanced algorithms to reduce risk and release capital. Since launch, our services have eliminated trillions of dollars of gross notional through interest rate compression and billions of dollars in initial margin and capital requirements through counterparty risk optimisation.

Our clients, including all the top tier global banks, regional banks, buy-side firms and other large institutional market participants, are serviced from offices in London, New York and Amsterdam - with Tokyo coming soon.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage Production Team

  • Team Leadership, responsible for leading and motivating the production team to ensure they are meeting their goals and delivering high quality work.
  • Leading performance, ensuring structured and continuous evaluation of team performance, and providing coaching and training to help improve performance.
  • Service improvement, it is key to identify areas where the service can be enhanced, efficiency increased, and client experiences bettered.
  • Communication with multiple other teams to ensure that everyone is kept up to date and aware of recent changes and up-coming enhancements/events.

Service Growth and Client communication

  • Explain all aspects of Product / Service to Client (including benefits, features, process)
  • Expand the network talking to potentially new clients in close collaboration with sales and RMs
  • Onboarding new Clients to ensure they have a complete grasp of the optimisation process and are ready for a production optimisation.
  • Ongoing explanation of optimisation results to Client (e.g. why results are the way they are, how Client can improve)
  • Work with relationship management and production teams to ensure that Clients understand the key features of the Product
  • Ongoing dialogue with Client to better understand their needs and any issues they have

Product Design and Delivery

  • Contributing to design and implementation of new products / major service additions
  • Continuous enhancements of existing Products / Services, based on Client needs and competitive landscape
  • Work with Engineering team to ensure Product enhancements are delivered to Client

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a relevant role (e.g. XVA, derivative trading or structuring). Experience in quantitative roles is a plus
  • Deep understanding of any combination of IR, FX, equity derivatives (including risk and pricing models)
  • Understanding of Cleared margin, SIMM, leverage ratio (CEM, SA-CCR), RWA, CCAR
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (being able to understand quantitative issues and explain them to Clients with varying levels of sophistication)
  • Ability to work closely with the Engineering team on modelling related issues
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a numerate field, mathematics, physics, engineering (advanced degree such as MSc / PhD is a plus)
  • Leadership experience a plus
