VNA Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Waste Collection Driving Team Leader for our client based in Pontypool.
As a Waste Collection Team Leader (Driver), you will oversee a team responsible for the collection and disposal of waste from residential and commercial properties. You will ensure that your team operates efficiently, safely, and in accordance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and supervising a team of waste collection operatives
- Driving and operating waste collection vehicles
- Ensuring timely and efficient waste collection services
- Conducting daily vehicle checks and routine maintenance
- Training new team members and providing ongoing support
- Adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies
- Addressing and resolving any issues or concerns from the public
Requirements:
- Previous experience in waste collection or a related field is essential
- Valid UK driving licence with the appropriate category for waste collection vehicles
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Good physical fitness, as the role involves manual labour
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work early mornings and occasional weekends
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to waste collection
