Accounts Payable Clerk - System Improvement

Following a period of growth, we are currently working in partnership with a leading Charity based in South East London who are recruiting for Accounts Payable Officer - System Improvement on interim / permanent / temporary - permanent opportunity.

This position is due to start accordingly to availability, is paying a salary banding of: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependant on experience).

This role offers two days working from home and three in the office, however for the initial few weeks the hiring manager would like the successful candidate on site 5 days per week.

The successful candidate will be tech savvy, ambitious and be looking to further their career in a transformative and developmental role.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Review all invoices to ensure they are correct and correctly formatted
  • Log all incoming invoices and distribute to appropriate staff member
  • Track all invoices are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Code invoices to appropriate nominal ledger account with clear and concise description of the expense
  • Process valid manual cheque requests, ensuring that these have been correctly authorised
  • Identify suppliers from the Purchase Ledger with invoices to pay
  • Prepare payment instructions, either by BACS or cheque
  • Review all accounts monthly and chase the building & estate departments for outstanding recharge instructions
  • Process invoice request form and dispatch invoice
  • Ensure expenditure is matched with re-charge and management fee taken
  • Prepare journals and post to PPMS on QUBE where appropriate

Experience required:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience of working in a finance department - essential
  • Experience working throughout the charity sector - desirable

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Intermediate excel - Pivot tables, v-lookups and Summifs - essential
  • MRI / QUBE experience - desirable
  • Organised with the ability to plan and prioritise - essential
  • Good time management skills - essential
