A rare opportunity has arisen within a large organisation based at their Medway Site, for an experienced Engineering Stores Person ideally from an engineering/mechanical background initially on a temporary basis. There are opportunities for permanent employment for the right candidate.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the stores and raw materials stocks. You will have previous stock control experience, be IT literate in Word, Excel and Outlook and hold a full driving license with no disqualifications. A Counterbalance Forklift license is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
You duties will include:
- Managing the engineering stores including stock levels and monetary value
- Providing and facilitating the provision of parts to maintain the plant, ensuring adequate production materials are available and controlled
- Purchasing both parts and materials, placing and receipting orders
- Devising, participating in and implementing cost reduction and process improvement plans.
- General housekeeping, ensuring the stores area in kept clean, tidy and well organised.
The hours of work are 07:00 - 16:00, Monday-Friday. 40 hours per week.
