About the role
Supporting a caseload of young people referred into the Service for support due to barriers to their education.
Supporting young people through one to one and small group work sessions, with clear aims and outcomes
Liaise with parents, carers, referrers, and other professionals to support a young person.
Be confident to attend professionals' meetings to provide updates on the support you have provided, and professionally represent yourself and the service.
Be able to signpost young people, parents, and carers to appropriate resources, including working in partnership with Services for Young People (SfYP) colleagues to ensure young people on your caseload benefit from the full-Service offer.

Who we are looking for:
Services for Young People are looking for an enthusiastic Inclusion Worker to work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting young people who are missing from education, electively home educated, on a reduced timetable or who are persistently or severely absent from education. The aim of the role is to support young people to overcome barriers to their education through bespoke one to one work and targeted group work, with the aim to support young people to re-enter or improve their education attendance
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and have good ICT skills.
- Demonstrate experience of building relationships within teams and the ability to build a rapport with young people and evidence of working with them individually and in small groups.
- Be proactive and have the ability to advocate and negotiate.
- Have a strong understanding of the issues facing young people and be able to demonstrate how you have effectively challenged stereotyping or other discriminatory practice.
You will also need the ability to work flexibly as Service needs require.
This role will require you to travel therefore the ability to travel across the county is required.
