Design Support Engineer - Electrical

My client has over 20 years of experience providing multi-utility networks to homes, industrial and businesses, and is one of the UK's largest independent multi-utility company in the UK. They create the infrastructure that helps the UK thrive and prosper by adopting new networks for Gas, Electricity and Water from accredited providers. They are seeking an enthusiastic, analytical, and forward-thinking Design Support Engineer Electricity, to ensure the safe adoption of distribution networks operating up to 11kV, ensuring specifications are met. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, focused team committed to the design, construction, and operation of quality Electricity Distribution Networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing expanding network demand and maintaining a high standard of the asset register is vital to my client's continued growth.
  • Ensure compliance with design, construction, and safety standards.
  • Liaise with customers over network design issues to ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Manage applications for connections to the upstream operator's network for company-managed networks.
  • Verify customer applications for connections to the upstream operator's network related to asset adoption works.
  • Manage and evaluate applications by other network operators or customers for connections to their networks, including assessing network reinforcement requirements.

Experience

  • Energy experience essential
  • Electricity design/analysis experience with the ability to use IT based design software.
  • Delivery of CAD designs and drawings where required.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working in a fast-paced environment
