Weighbridge and Transport Administrator

Our client based in East Sussex is a specialist waste recycling and waste management company. They are looking for an experienced Transport Coordination and Weighbridge Administrator to provide support to their friendly and busy team in Lewes.

Requirements

  • You will need an eye for detail as you will be required to assess various grades of metal to determine rebate values
  • Must be able to build effective relations and manage customer relationships
  • Able to work as part of a team or individually under pressure using own initiative
  • Dealing with basic staff requirements i.e. holiday request forms and issuing PPE
  • Health & Safety awareness is essential
  • Ideally you will have similar experience in a relevant office environment i.e. Waste, Recycling or Haulage, and a practical outlook is essential.

Responsibilities as a Weighbridge and Transport Administrator

  • Handle telephone and visitor inquiries promptly and efficiently.
  • Forward relevant inquiries and information to the Sales team, and coordinate with them to action jobs as they go live.
  • Process orders from new and existing customers for container hire services and waste collections.
  • Enter these orders into our IT system (SAP), coordinate with drivers and vehicle types, and manage the shipping of roll-on-roll-off and articulated vehicles.
  • Knowledge of the South of England is a plus.
  • Maintain accurate records with a strong attention to detail.
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager and Yard Supervisor to organize outgoing loads and third-party haulage.
  • Collect and report details of any breakdowns, accidents, or incidents from drivers to the General Manager.
  • This customer-facing role requires excellent people skills and the ability to work independently. You will be responsible for weighing various vehicle types in and out of the site, managing numerous waste types, and ensuring accurate data recording. Financial transactions will also be handled using our IT system (SAP).

Job Title: Weighbridge and Transport Administrator

Location: Lewes

Salary: up to £28,000 per annum, depending upon experience

Full Time: Monday - Friday (7:00am - 5:00pm - 45 hours per week), with some flexibility required and occasional weekend work (once a month)
