Salary / Rate of pay: £30,000 to £31,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

It's a busy operation catering for breakfast of 180 covers, buffet-style lunches for 250 covers, and an average of 50-100 covers at dinnertime.

Accommodation is available with this role if relocating to the area, however, please note that this is off-site. Due to its rural location, our client does kindly offer a free transportation service from both the Melton Mowbray and Asfordby areas should you not drive. What's involved?

As the Junior Sous Chef, you will be responsible for directing the food preparation process amongst an experienced team of 23 chefs, delegating tasks amongst them as well as motivating and working closely with each.

You will be a passionate 'foodie'; preparing and cooking good quality, nutritious dishes to a consistently excellent standard using fresh produce, whilst also ensuring the team maintains the same high standards too. Presentation is important here, so you should have a good eye for detail, be able to work under pressure and be confident in working with fresh produce as most items are made in-house including breads and ice cream.

You'll supervise all sections of the kitchen, assisting with determining food inventory needs, stock takes and ordering whilst also ensuring both yourself and the team have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety at all times.
