Reed Education is seeking a dynamic English Teacher to join a secondary school in Lancaster. The role starts September and is on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of the curriculum, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering an engaging learning environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Delivering English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, with KS5 being an advantage.
- Creating a stimulating classroom atmosphere to promote learning and student engagement.
- Preparing lesson plans, grading papers, and managing classroom activities.
- Implementing strategies to improve student literacy and critical thinking skills.
- Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Providing feedback to students and parents on academic progress.
- Upholding the school's policies and procedures, including safeguarding and disciplinary standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Recent relevant experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 experience being advantageous.
- Excellent classroom management skills and subject knowledge.
- Reliable, committed, and able to act as a positive role model for students.
- Strong interpersonal skills, punctuality, patience, and confidence when working with children.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
