Page personnel are working alongside a very large distribution company based in Skelmersdale. They are seeking a Payroll Manager. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages to all employees.

This role involves maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation, managing payroll-related queries, and continuously improving payroll processes.

Description

As a Payroll Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Manage the full payroll cycle, ensuring accurate and timely processing of weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payrolls for all employees.
  • Oversee the calculation and processing of statutory deductions, bonuses, commissions, overtime, and other payroll-related adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax and employment laws.
  • Implement and optimise payroll software to improve efficiency and accuracy in payroll processes.
  • Ensure payroll operations comply with all legal requirements
  • Manage payroll audits and ensure all payroll records are accurately maintained and securely stored.
  • Assist in the preparation of payroll budgets and forecasts, providing accurate data and analysis to support financial planning.
  • Monitor payroll costs and analyse variances, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Lead and mentor the payroll team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.

Profile

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Sage, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
