Salary: Grade 3 A-E £13,889 - £14,083 (£22,739 - £23,057 FTE)

Hours: 26 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, term time only

Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 2pm (Flexibility if needed)

Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking a hardworking and committed person to join a Secondary School based in Farnborough as a Science Technician. This role is a permanent, part time position.

As the Science Technician, you will work with the Technician Team working under the supervision of the Senior Science Technician. You will be responsible for the preparation of specialist equipment and resources for Science lessons and provide general and practical support in the school's science laboratories, as well as supporting the class teacher in providing students with relevant and effective experience. You will ensure the maintenance of a healthy and safe working environment for staff and students, and build good relationships with students and colleagues.

The salary for this role is currently set between £13,889 - £14,083 (£22,739 - £23,057 FTE).

For this role, you will be/will need:

  • Experience in a Science related role or equivalent
  • Able to provide advice and support
  • Able to assist in practical lessons by carrying out demonstrations under direction of the class teacher
  • Able to follow guidelines, specifically regarding chemicals, specimens and equipment
  • Able to safely use and dispose of materials including hazardous substances, and be able to respond to actual or potential hazards appropriately
  • Able to keep records and stock up to date

This role is currently set to start in September 2024, and is a part time, term time only role.
