Timber Sales Specialist

As the Timber Sales Specialist you will focus on the sales of timber. This role involves providing expert advice to customers, managing inventory, and ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of timber products. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to meet sales targets and enhance customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice to customers on timber products, including types, grades, sizes, and uses.
  • Assist customers in selecting the appropriate timber products for their projects.
  • Process sales transactions, prepare quotes, and follow up on inquiries.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of timber products and industry trends.
  • Stay updated on new products, technologies, and market developments.
  • Manage timber stock levels to ensure availability of products.
  • Monitor inventory turnover and place orders to replenish stock as needed.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and manage discrepancies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with timber suppliers.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company targets.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop promotional activities and campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
  • Provide after-sales support and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the handling and storage of timber.

Skills

  • Proven experience in timber within the construction or building materials industry.
  • Strong understanding of timber products, their uses, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, strong negotiation and sales abilities.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Salary

: up to £35,000
