Business Development Executive

My client is looking for a Business Development Executive to join their exciting business.

The Role

  • The Business Development Executive (BDE) is responsible for supporting the field based sales team by providing telephone and admin support to help with new business enquiries.
  • The BDE will work with the other members of the sales team, taking written and telephone enquiries, assessing them in accordance with the clients lending policy, issuing indicative terms to brokers and submitting credit proposals to the underwriting team.
  • The BDE must use their skill and experience, referring to underwriting or the sales team where appropriate, to determine which loans are deemed acceptable and reject any which do not meet the criteria or where the Underwriter does not believe the borrower will be able to repay.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the building and development of trusted relationships with all introducers is core to the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take calls from brokers with questions and enquiries
  • Learn criteria and policy to confirm whether a case Is doable
  • Compose credit submissions for BDMS who are out on the road
  • Assist with any reporting and figures as required
  • Maintain a high level of communication at all times with interested parties including brokers, BDMS and underwriters
  • Maintain a high level of customer service with those internally and externally
  • Work closely with other departments within the company including sales, compliance, finance and collections
  • Use a system to produce terms to support underwriting (acting as an overflow at times of increased business volumes)
  • Think outside the box and be proactive when suggesting ways to overcome potential problems, whilst ensuring that there is no additional risk to the company
  • Keep up to date with current best practice and regulatory requirements
  • Keep all records up to date
  • Represent the company at events and broker visits as required.
