Multi Trade Operatives – High Wycombe
We're recruiting multi-skilled workers for our client, a company specialising in housing refurbishments, maintenance, and new build developments.
The primary focus of this role will be on bathroom conversions, transforming traditional bathrooms into modern wet rooms to facilitate aids and adaptation programs.
To deliver ventilation installations and upgrades to properties forming part of the Damp,
Mould & Disrepair team
Key duties and responsibilities
- Competent to complete a wide variety of ventilation installations or upgrades within
domestic properties.
Fitting Thermo boards to walls
- Ensure that work is carried out to a professional standard, adhering to building
regulations (in particular part F), codes of practice or best practice.
- To liaise with customers and other colleagues, as appropriate, to ensure all relevant
individuals are aware of progress and action taken. In more complex cases or for guidance
refer the matter to your line manager to identify the necessary remedial action.
- To always ensure that all works comply with relevant health and safety legislation,
policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post. Including
understanding of risk assessments and method statements which will include appropriate
use of equipment, PPE, and safe working practice.
- Deliver works on time and first time wherever possible.
- To use and apply a ‘Schedule of Rates' for job costing repairs and ensuring repair orders
are varied to correct value.
- Maintain a comprehensive van stock of materials, completing works in the most cost effective manner.
- Maintain the works vehicle in good condition, keep it clean and carry out regular vehicle
safety checks reporting any defects to the Fleet Manager & support team.
- To assist all other trades as and when required ensuring that residents receive the best
possible quality service.
- To operate multi-task working where required and where skilled/trained to do so.
- To carry out other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, in
relation to the grading and level of responsibilities of the post.
Knowledge, skills, and experience required.
- Competent to complete a wide variety of installations including mechanical wall
extractors, positive input ventilation systems (loft and wall mounted).
- Experienced in running soft and hard duct runs in all types of domestic properties
ensuring the highest quality finish as required by location.
- Competent to use core drilling equipment as required within the boundary of dynamic
risk and method statements.
- Competent in producing high quality installations and finishes such as boxing in duct
runs, decorations, sand & cement and plaster patching, use of sealants and silicones.
Person Specification
- Full Driving licence (clean)
- Ability to undertake physically demanding work.
- Experience of work either in Carpentry, joiner or plasterer
