Role Overview: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism. You will help them develop essential skills and achieve their full potential in a positive and encouraging environment. Your work will directly contribute to creating a nurturing space where every student feels valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with autism, adapting to their individual needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of personalised learning plans and strategies.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your understanding and skills in working with children with autism.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant Experience: Prior experience working with individuals with autism or in a similar support role is highly desirable.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Strong teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with teachers, parents, and colleagues.
  • Understanding of Autism: Basic knowledge of autism spectrum disorders with a commitment to continuous learning and adaptation to student needs.
  • Patience and Empathy: Ability to remain patient, compassionate, and understanding, even in challenging situations.
