Robert Half are pleased to be exclusively recruiting a Group Accountant role with a growing technology business based in Swindon. This role will act as a number 2 to the Financial Controller and will be pivotal in implementing financial controls, preparing management accounts and supporting with analysis, budgeting and forecasting. This role would suit a newly qualified ACA/ACCA Accountant, preferably seeking their first move from practice.
The role
You will be joining a growing and ever changing business and will be required to support with implementing processes and improving current reporting standards. You will be a forward thinking, solutions orientated individual who is capable of working to deadlines and making suggestions for improvements. The Group Accountant will be responsible for a range of duties including but not limited to:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, analysing variances, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Audit & Compliance: Manage the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Taxation: Handle corporation tax returns, VAT returns, and other tax-related matters, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, preparing cash flow forecasts and working capital analysis.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- System & Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ad-hoc Projects: Participate in and lead various finance-related projects as required.
Profile
The successful candidate will have the following skills/attributes:
- ACA/ACCA qualified/finalist, preferably from practice.
- Strong accounting controls knowledge.
- Forward thinking and solutions orientated.
- Intermediate level excel (vlookups and pivot tables).
- Strong communication skills with business partnering capabilities.
Package:
- £45,000 - £55,000.
- Hybrid working (minimum 2 days on site in West Swindon).
- Flexible working.
- 25 days leave + bank holidays.
