About the role

Join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Eastbourne, where you'll be responsible for enhancing and improving the efficiency of our manufacturing processes, while driving continuous improvement.

  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by advising on Design for Manufacture, Assembly & Test (DFM) processes, ensuring early engagement with development programs.
  • Collaborate with our Development team on process capability and best practices.
  • Build relationships with Project Managers and development teams in Brighton, ensuring seamless handover to Manufacturing Engineers (ME's).
  • Develop operational improvement activities with Operations Director and Manufacturing Engineering manager.
  • Be the subject matter expert for assembly processes, identifying optimisation opportunities and new technologies.
  • Ensure product design considers manufacturability throughout, identifying cost reduction opportunities.
  • Review manufacturing processes to enhance cost-effectiveness, quality, and efficiency, optimizing workflow, space, and equipment layout.
  • Lead the development and delivery of Manufacturing Engineering practices, driving quality, cost and product delivery.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers to maintain high standards throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Provide decision-making information by calculating production, labour and material costs and preparing insightful reports.
  • Support the development and execution of manufacturing strategies aligned with business goals, focusing on equipment, processes, layout, and automation initiatives.
  • Occasional travel to Brighton site to support technical discussions with design and Electronics teams.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience working in a similar role within Electro-mechanical production with LEAN practices.
  • Knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes - Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Through hole (PTH) and Testing.
