Estimator
Annual Salary: £25,000 - £28,000
Location: Office based (must have access to a vehicle as not accessible via public transport)
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours Mon-Fri)
Reed in Colchester are delighted to be seeking a diligent and professional Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating project drawings to produce accurate take-offs and quotations, ensuring they reflect the client's requirements. This role requires clear and professional communication with customers and colleagues to increase the likelihood of securing projects.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Evaluate drawings to produce an accurate take-off/mark-up of the project.
- Produce accurate quotations that reflect the clients' requirements.
- Communicate with customers via telephone and email to answer questions professionally and promptly.
- Liaise with colleagues within the Sales & Estimating department to enhance the chances of securing the project.
- Monitor the workload and prioritise time in consultation with the Sales & Estimating Supervisor/Manager.
- Update the internal 4P system to reflect the current status of each enquiry/quotation.
- Perform other tasks and duties as reasonably requested by the Sales & Estimating Supervisor/Manager.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Professional communication skills, both oral and written.
- Diligence in producing accurate quotations.
- Clear and concise communication skills for all levels of customers.
- Positive "can-do" approach to all aspects of the role.
- Understanding of the importance of accurate quoting and commercial factors that may impact business acquisition.
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Bluebeam and CAD software such as Autodesk is desirable, with further training available if necessary.
- Outstanding time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Confident and professional telephone manner.
- Self-motivated and methodical approach to customer service.
- Previous building design experience is preferable, with further training provided.
