Finance Manager

Our client a leading property development business is looking for a Finance Manager to join their team. This newly created role is perfect for a qualified commerical finance individual looking to be a finance lead delivering financial analysis, forecasting and tailored reporting for a new development.

The client offers hybrid working (1 day a week) from home plus fantastic benefits and an annual bonus.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager the role as Finance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Acting as finance lead for the development site understanding site strategy, constraints and their impact on financials, the programme and its impact on profit delivery, development costings and their analysis
  • Working with the wider finance team to continuously challenge financial targets and investigate the financial impact of decision
  • Assist in maintaining an up-to-date and accurate site cash and profit forecast
  • Ensure site provisions are fully up to date and accurate
  • Assist with maintaining a fully flexible working site financial model (profit and cashflow) for reporting and scenario analysis
  • Assist in maintaining the site as required on the accounting / forecasting software, analysing any discrepancies and raising these with the relevant departments
  • Maintenance of a live risks and opportunities forecast
  • Assist in the modelling of various scenarios on the business profit forecast and cashflow
  • Ensure VAT is being charged and reported appropriately through review and approval of site VAT invoices
  • Ensure commissions and legal fees are accurate and support is in place
  • Review of completion statements to ensure completeness and accuracy ahead of legal completion
  • Perform regular cost reconciliations, correcting mis-postings and clearly demonstrating cost to come allowances are satisfactory
  • Assist with financial reconciliations and reviews of prospective suppliers and subcontractors
  • Ad-hoc scenario analysis and basic modelling work
  • Assist with board reporting on a monthly basis for the relevant site
  • Assist in review board papers for accuracy and content
  • Assist in preparation of a quarterly review of sitecovering financial, risk and opportunity areas for the development
  • Assist the central finance function as necessary at half year and year end with reporting requirements

Candidate Profile

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with post qualified experience
  • Commerical finance experience
  • Experience working in industry for a SME Business
  • Someone who wants to learn and is a self starter
