Lead Data Engineer - Azure

£600 - £650 per day via umbrella
A large client of mine in the south of England is currently looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join their team on a 6-month contract basis.
In this role, you will be leading and mentoring a data engineering team who are responsible for the below:
- Designing and building new data models.
- Designing and building appropriate extract-transform-load (ETL) pipelines for required data.
- Engineering robust solution components.
In order to be successful in this role, you will have to possess the following:
- Demonstrable use of specific Azure data related resources including: Data Factory, Databricks, Storage Account (Data Lake / Delta Lake)
- SQL Database, SQL Data Warehouse (Dedicated SQL Pool)
- Appropriate senior-level programming/query language skills including Python/PySpark and T-SQL.
- Be fully conversant with Agile principles; use of the Scrum methodology.
- Experience with Azure DevOps. Lead on all best practices and standards in terms of source repository control, CI/CD and change control.
