Senior Pricing Manager - Modelling and Development:

Ageas have an exciting opportunity for Senior Pricing Manager - Modelling and Development.
The Senior Pricing Manager will be responsible for supporting our risk and retail pricing teams by using their expertise to review current processes and procedures and give advice on areas of improvement. In addition, the jobholder will also support the wider pricing teams in developing any proposed improvements in models/processes.

The role would lead the technical model governance processes within Ageas' Pricing functions including the development and adherence to our data ethics and AI framework and give another layer of scrutiny as part of the model sign off process.

The role will require detailed knowledge of sophisticated actuarial and statistical techniques in order to assess, recommend and build pricing strategy improvements which increase volume and profit across risk and retail pricing functions. A key part of the role will be supporting pricing team members in their development.

Main Responsibilities as Senior Pricing Manager - Modelling and Development:

  • Monitor and analyse the performance, profile and mix trends of Ageas accounts at the macro, rating factor, agent and product levels as directed, and then draw conclusions for the Senior Pricing Analysts.
  • Be able to implement the agreed rate changes, provide new rates to the Electronic Business team for distribution to software houses and update the in house system.
  • You will support the Senior Pricing Analysts and Household Technical Pricing Manager, as appropriate
  • Use tools such as SAS, Emblem and Radar to optimise the standard household portfolio.

To be successful in being considered for the Senior Pricing Manager - Modelling and Development role you will need the following knowledge, skills and experience:

  • 10+ years' experience in insurance pricing across both risk and retail domains
  • Highly skilled in the use of programming language/software (e.g. SAS, SQL, Databricks) to manipulate data.
  • Capability to independently build pricing models utilising the latest advancements in modelling techniques and software
  • Experience in SOME of the following predictive modelling techniques e.g. Logistic Regression, GBMs, Elastic Net GLMs, GAMs, Decision Trees, Random Forests
  • Experienced in the use of a programming language (e.g. R, Python)
  • Effective coaching of staff and development of pricing skills.
  • Experience of dealing with and influencing colleagues at all levels up to, and including, senior management and directors.
  • Excellent at building strong relationships
  • Very strong planning, prioritisation and organisational skills.
  • A superior working knowledge of the personal lines market and how to manage account performance through the underwriting cycle.
