Financial Controller

Our Surrey based IT client requires an experienced high calibre corporate Financial Controller to join their expanding business. You will be responsible for all financial control, reporting, tax and payroll, and be responsible for mentoring and motivate a small accounting team. You will oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting, communicating financial results to the Directors. A key part of this permanent opportunity is to participate in the commercial and strategic development of the company and will be pivotal in the ongoing development of a cost control culture.

Duties will include:

  • Financial Controller reporting to Director Level
  • Due diligence (Financial and non-financial) on acquisition target
  • Analysis and interpretation of KPI's, variances & forecasting
  • Overseeing audit
  • Prepare forecasts, plans and management information
  • Budget preparation and monthly analysis
  • Preparation and presentation of reports to the Board
  • Company secretary
  • Preparation of year end accounts information
  • Monthly Internal Audit
  • Preparation of Monthly Board Pack
  • Source and negotiate terms with Auditors and other external contractors
  • Produce annual accounts in a timely manner
  • Ensure annual accounts are signed off by auditors
  • Produce agreed monthly management accounts
  • Produce monthly cash flow chart
  • Report showing actuals and forecasts against budget
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the performance of the group
  • Produce ad hoc financial and management reports as requested
  • Ensure all payments are made on time
  • Ensure invoices are dispatched on time
  • Produce monthly report of late payments
  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and acquisition's
  • Manage the daily operations of the finance department
  • Mentor and develop staff members

Applicants should possess:

  • A professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and possesses previous management experience
  • Experience of working with and developing strong teams and motivating individuals to achieve results; must be effective at building relationships across the organisation, as well as externally
  • Candidates working within a high volume busy working environment
