Strategic Communications & Engagement Officer

Role Overview
Recruiting a Strategic Communications & Engagement officer for a temporary, day rate role within a Local Authority. This is a full-time post for a period of 4-6 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking a project management approach to developing two key consultation projects and promoting these initiatives directly with stakeholders and members of Hounslow's diverse community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of engagement proposals, consultation methods and evaluation.
- Facilitate and lead outreach to promote consultations with key stakeholders
- Directly engage with the public about the consultation subjects, including face-to-face conversations.
- Work closely with the communications team to assist with shaping the comms on projects.
- Analyse results and report on the projects.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working in an engagement role for the local authority is required.
- Project management, working with a number of managers.
- Managing two projects at once.
- Facilitation of engagement workshops, including within the community
- Leading in-person engagement
- Managing consultation
- Working with and supporting diverse communities
- Working directly with vulnerable communities
- Report writing
- Experience of working on sensitive projects
- Successful candidates will need to have engagement and outreach experience.
What you need to do now
This role requires candidates to be able to directly engage with the community, in person within the Borough, this will include some evenings and the possibility of some weekends, with time off in lieu of hours worked.
