Full Time, Permanent (39 hours per week)
Salary of £32,527 per annum on completion of probation period.
Serco have an exciting role as an Aircraft Supervisor - Mechanical at RAF Syerston, working under MAA Pt145/RA4801. We are looking for an individual who is able to lead and supervise engineering personnel, carrying out maintenance on Viking and other contract-related aircraft at RAF Syerston and other locations throughout the UK.
Main accountabilities:
- Carry out the responsibilities and duties of Support Staff with Supervisory Responsibilities in accordance with Serco GMS Military Regulation Publication (MRP) Part 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), Military Aviation Authority (MAA) MRP Part 145 and Regulatory Article (RA) 4801.
- Maintenance (Preventative, Corrective and Scheduled) and associated activities (i.e. Manpower, Tasks and Spares prioritisation) on Viking and other contract-related aircraft at RAF Syerston and 2 Flying Training School (FTS) locations/Volunteer Gliding Squadrons (VGSs)/detachments throughout the UK.
- Management, supervision, participation in and control of aircraft activities including but not limited to; ground movement and preparation for transportation.
- Leadership, management, supervision and control of assigned maintenance teams.
- Optimising output to meet the business needs and demonstrate commitment to Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement.
- Carry out associated roles as directed by the business needs, such as but not limited to; Deputy Aircraft Manager (Depth-level Maintenance), Deputy Team Leader (Mobile), Line Supervisor, Building Custodian and Issue Centre Custodian.
What you need to do the role:
- Be appropriately experienced and have completed, as a minimum, MOD Phase 2 technical training.
- Be appropriately experienced and have completed suitable civilian training (civilian contractors only).
- Demonstrate having experience of or potential to hold Support Staff with Supervisory Responsibilities or civilian equivalent.
- Have a minimum of 5-years' experience in equivalent civilian industry or Armed Forces in a relevant trade group.
- Possess good fault diagnosis skills, demonstrating a thorough understanding of aircraft systems.
- Technically competent.
- Hold full driving licence.
- Possess good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Be competent using IT.
