About Us:

Reed Education North Wales is collaborating with a Secondary School in Flintshire to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs. We are keen to speak with candidates who have experience working with children or young adults in a school or care setting and are looking to make a positive impact on students' lives.

Location: Flintshire, North Wales

Start Date: September 2024

Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Contract

Job Description:

As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering lessons, supporting pupils, and ensuring they are engaged and motivated. This full-time position, starting in September 2024, requires a long-term commitment and dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lessons for pupils and provide support and assistance as needed.
  • Ensure that pupils are engaged, motivated, and on task.
  • Manage any behaviour issues that may arise.
  • Follow school policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupils' progress.

Requirements:

  • A relevant undergraduate degree or a Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • GCSE or equivalent passes in Math's and English.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to manage behaviour effectively.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to collaborate.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.

Additional Requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (if you do not have one, you can process an Enhanced DBS through Reed).
  • Registration with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) to work in schools in Wales.
