Our client is looking for an experienced and dedicated Dispatch Manager in Preston. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and improving all aspects of the dispatch process and operations.

The company is are a leading expert in the UK within their sector, and have recently secured an additional large contract. Their operations are primarily focused in Preston but they do have 2 additional sites, and supply to customers across the UK.
Description
Dispatch Manager will be responsible for:
- Oversee daily dispatch operations and ensure efficiency.
- Implement strategies to improve the dispatch process.
- Forecast and process planning for the operation.
- Manage the 2 cold stores, primarily through peak season.
- Coordinate with the Logistics team to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Manage and resolve any dispatch-related issues.
- Maintain and update dispatch records.
- Monitor and report on dispatch performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulations.
- Train and mentor dispatch team members.
- Hands-on management, supporting the team achieve their KPIs.
- Succession planning across the team.
Profile
A successful Dispatch Manager should have:
- Experience in managing dispatch operations in a fast paced environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proven experience of operational planning and forecasting.
- Excellent knowledge of dispatch procedures and regulations.
- Confident in using and training the team on WMS.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple teams.
- Management of teams circ 20 - 25 people.
- Flexible to support the operational needs.
- Commutable from Preston
- Experience within logistics distribution and supply chain within a fast moving operation.
Job Offer
The Dispatch Manager will receive a salary up to £48,000 depending on experience. There is also a great opportunity for further progression within the business due to the further growth they are going through.
