Reed Secure is a specialist provider of permanent, contract, temporary and outsourced recruitment solutions for security cleared professionals.

We require a Technical Author to cover an existing workload within Counter Terrorism Policing, based in Empress State Building (Hybrid working).

This is an interim position for an initial 6 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.

Job Purpose:

  • Champion and implement effective project delivery, supporting the vision to deliver effective technology to counter terrorism.
  • A technical writer is an expert practitioner with a deep understanding of technology and the needs of technologists.
  • At this role level, you will standardise tools and ways of communicating, along with processes.
  • Work closely with service managers, technology leaders and senior stakeholders to resource teams and resolve problems.
  • Promote the discipline of technical writing, engage with the cross-government community and keep up to date with industry changes.

Skills and experience needed to be successful in this role:

  • MUST HAVE ACTIVE SC LEVEL CLEARANCE TO APPLY!
  • Experience of working on large scale Business Change and IT enabled Transformation Programmes.
  • Experience of working in a complex high profile political environment.
  • Minimum of 5 Years' experience working within central Government projects.
  • Must be able to show ability to manage multiple suppliers including large IT Service providers.
  • Has experience of engaging end users and board level executives to manage their perceptions.
  • Has experience of preparing central Government technical documents.
  • Experience in test management of ICT projects within complex stakeholder / business environments.
  • Proven track record of managing a complex team.
  • Experience of developing and working with audit processes and challenge functions.
  • Experience with government procurement processes.
  • A record of successfully supporting and delivering secure national projects on time and on budget in a complex environment which uses both in-house and supplier based delivery method.
  • Understanding of the Cabinet Office Security Policy Framework (SPF).

This role offers a competitive salary of £518.13 per day Umbrella (Inside IR35).
