Quality and Lab Inspector

Location: Irlam
Department: Quality, UK Operations
Reporting to: Quality Engineer
Pay Rate: £12.50 per hour

**Work Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 16:30
  • Friday: 07:30 - 15:00

**Role Overview:

Are you detail-oriented with a passion for quality? Join our team as a Quality and Lab Inspector, ensuring our products meet the highest standards before reaching our customers. You'll be responsible for measuring parts, running tests, and comparing products against specifications to ensure excellence.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control: Inspect all incoming supplies and reject those that don't meet quality standards.
  • Product Inspection: Conduct thorough checks on our products, including measuring quality, quantity, and temperature to ensure compliance with required standards.
  • Process Management: Pause non-conforming processes and ensure issues are resolved.
  • Training & Monitoring: Train staff on quality checks and improvements.
  • Documentation: Prepare inspection logs, reports, and collect performance data.
  • Specification Adherence: Read drawings, plans, and specifications to inspect products and services. Measure product dimensions, finish, and functionality.
  • Data Analysis: Record testing data, analyze reject-rework data, and suggest improvements.
  • Reporting: Create detailed reports and present them to the Quality Manager/Engineer.

**Technical Proficiency:

  • Use automated tools and instruments such as CMM, tensile machines, and micrometer gauges to perform precise measurements and tests.
  • Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems.

**Experience, Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Detail-Oriented: A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
  • Technical Skills: Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Responsible, trustworthy, and excellent in communication.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a quality inspector or a relevant role.
  • Education: Certification in quality control (ISO 9000) is an advantage.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in MS Office.

**Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to various UK sites and occasionally to Romania.
  • Ability to support the Senior Management Team and other departments through excellent relations and communication.
