Our client are a leading manufacturer of precision parts for the aerospace industry. They are looking to add a Materials Manager to their team on a permanent basis. This would be a great fit for a meticulous individual who enjoys challenge and variety in their day to day.

Materials Manager

  • Manage raw material purchases and e&o in line with Inventory targets

  • Manage customer demand schedule loading on the backlog

  • Identify changes and movements in customer demand

  • Evaluate the raw material impact

  • availability of raw material

  • review flow down effect on Inter co suppliers

  • review SOP and financial impact in conjunction with the Planning Manager

  • Monitor sales backlog to ensure reflects customer requirements and acknowledged delivery dates

  • Confirm raw material plan requirements to support SOP and Customer commits

  • Review supply commitments in conjunction with purchasing, verify and identify Issues to meet customer committed deliveries

  • Support purchasing to resolve supply issues

  • Prepare work order launch plan, in conjunction with Planning Mgr, to support customer deliveries and production plans

  • Prepare long range raw material forecasts for Inter Co suppliers

  • Prepare Customer raw material reporting

  • Implement robust process to ensure charge back on any applicable PPV and or surcharge to customers

  • Ensure compliance with appliable reporting eg

  • SOX

  • Conflict Minerals

  • CBAM

  • SEPA

  • Support development of IT Purchasing procedures

  • Meets and communicates with customers as required

  • Carry out any other duty as requested by the Senior Management Team.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Excellent understanding how customer demand is linked to purchase demand
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Well organised and possess strong numerical skills with the ability to analyse data effectively and put forward solutions to problems
  • Energetic with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Can work with minimal supervision, using own initiative.
  • Must have outstanding knowledge with advanced skills of Microsoft Excel, alongside good IT skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of responsiveness with the ability to work under pressure and tight time constraints
  • Must have minimum of 5 years applicable experience within a manufacturing industry.
