We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behaviour Mentor.
This role is essential for supporting students with complex needs, challenging behaviours, and personal care requirements. The ideal candidate will have a background in care, and while experience within a school setting is advantageous, it is not a requirement. We value dedication, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Students: Work one-on-one or in small groups with students displaying challenging behaviours and complex needs, helping them to engage positively with their learning environment.
- Personal Care: Assist students with personal care tasks as needed, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.
- Behaviour Management: Implement and monitor behaviour support plans, using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviours.
- Emotional Support: Provide emotional and social support to students, helping them develop resilience and coping strategies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create and maintain a supportive and consistent environment for the students.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student progress, incidents, and any other relevant information.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Care Background: Previous experience in a care role (e.g., healthcare, social work, childcare).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Empathy and Patience: A genuine interest in supporting children with complex needs and the ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to the changing needs of students and the school environment.
