We're excited to be recruiting a new opportunity for a Head of Touring for a leading independent music merchandise company, working with an incredible roster of global music artists.
This role will involve all aspects of international tour merchandise sales for artist-branded products. This role requires close collaboration with all departments, including art, production, account management, logistics, and finance, to ensure successful execution of merchandise strategies on tour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Department Leadership and Development:Drive growth and innovation in the Tour Merchandise department, managing and leading team members and overseeing all merchandise-related activities.
- Team Management:Oversee the sourcing and management of touring merchandise sellers/reps to professionally represent the company.
- Client and Financial Management:Collaborate with clients and Account Managers on product ranges and objectives, creating financial projections, analysing past sales data to inform decisions.
- Inventory and Logistics Oversight:Manage inventory, including sizing and quantities, and oversee product shipping, transportation, and vendor coordination.
- International Tour Operations and Quality Control:Handle all merchandise needs for advance shows and tours, hire local vendors, and adjust merchandise contracts, ensuring quality control at performances.
- Strategic Planning and Reporting:Plan future tours, new designs, and make strategic projections. Deliver accurate tour summary reports and manage purchase orders.
- Process and Equipment Management:Develop templates and processes for reviewing sales, expenses, and shipping costs. Manage rental and reporting of MyPos Machines.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong previous experience in the music industry, particularly in merchandise.
- Proven leadership and strong communication skills.
- Excellent multitasking, time-management, organisational, and strategic planning abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
- Familiarity with Airtable or similar tools, AtVenu, and MyPOS is ideal.
- Strong knowledge of European geography.
