Science teachers for KS3 and KS4

Can you plan and deliver captivating science lessons that cater to the varying abilities and interests of students?

Do you hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/PGCE for secondary or an equivalent teaching certification?

Can you conduct experiments and demonstrations to enhance hands-on learning experiences?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join our team in Preston. You will be supporting KS3 and KS4 students, contributing to our goal of fostering academic excellence and empowering our students. The daily pay rate for this role ranges from £155 to £230, based on your experience, qualifications, and teaching level.

In this role, your primary objective will be to provide high-quality science education that inspires and engages students, aiding them in reaching their academic potential and gaining a deep understanding of scientific concepts. Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
  • Develop approach to self - directed learning, use technology to support learning
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Respond to questioning

Personal attributes:

  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent
