Rate: £650-£700 per day (inside IR35)

Duration: Initial 6-month contract

Introduction: Salt's Local Government client is seeking a skilled Azure DevOps Engineer to join their team on a part-time basis. This role will be pivotal in supporting the Unified Data Model (UDM) Project, focusing on optimising and managing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipelines within Azure DevOps environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pipeline management and troubleshooting, ensuring seamless integration and delivery processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CICD Pipeline Management: Take ownership of CICD pipeline issues, identifying and resolving inefficiencies and failures to ensure smooth and continuous integration and delivery processes.
  • Azure DevOps Implementation: Lead the in-house development and management of Azure DevOps environments, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure and project requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the IT Service Delivery (ITSD) team and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of DevOps practices with business objectives.
  • Documentation: Produce and maintain detailed documentation of DevOps processes, configurations, and best practices to support knowledge transfer and project continuity.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide expert advice on best practices for DevOps, including automation, testing, and deployment strategies.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Azure DevOps Engineer, with strong expertise in managing CICD pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of Azure services and infrastructure.
  • Experience working in public sector environments, with local government experience being highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues within DevOps frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience in Local Government or wider public sector projects.
  • Knowledge of Unified Data Models and their implementation within Azure environments.

Additional Information:

  • The successful candidate will report to the IT Service Delivery Head of Service or an equivalent senior role, to be confirmed.
  • Flexibility around working days can be discussed
  • The role is primarily remote, but occasional on-site meetings may be required
