Reporting into the WPB Technology Head of Strategy & Governance, the WPB Workforce Engagement Lead is responsible for shaping and leading the workforce engagement plan for the function. The core purpose of the role is to support the WPB tech leadership team in embedding the strategy, encompassing engagement with WPB tech colleagues, colleagues in the broader WPB Business and Group Technology.

Principle Accountabilities:

Key activities and decision-making areas:Create and lead a cohesive and ambitious Stakeholder engagement strategy that supports the global function's vision, strategic objectives, and people agenda, in line with strategy, values and purpose.Lead the execution of WPB Technology campaigns and projects that support the strategy, in collaboration with relevant teams and other global, regional, and country colleagues.Lead the creation of compelling content and messages to engage stakeholders/employees about the progress and priorities of WPB Technology, aligned to our purpose, strategy, and values.Accountable for the Global Townhalls, Bi-Monthly ExCo videos, Open door sessions, senior leadership exchanges and CIO/ExCo visits.Accountable for sharing organisational change announcements and updates on key transformation initiatives.Define and execute plans to promote employee awareness, understanding and engagement with the global priorities for WPB Technology.Design, lead and facilitate senior leadership events for the function, including relationship management with other functions, partners and/or external service providers.Cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the brand.Support and provide input into the function's people and culture strategy, plans and initiatives.Shape and strengthen WPB Technology communities, utilising a variety of different channels to drive grass-root engagement and awareness of the functions' purpose, strategy and values.Ensure consistency of information-sharing and messages across all mediums and channels for WPB technology.

Key Competencies

The job holder will need to demonstrate the following skills:

Be an experienced Banking Technology professional, expert in workforce engagement, project and stakeholder management.Good understanding of key trends and areas of innovation which influence the way we interact and engage with internal stakeholders and audiences. These can include digital marketing, new technology, Relationship Management, Agile working practices, data, and analytical tools.Have a proven track record in developing, managing, and implementing high impact and sustainable engagement strategies.Experienced facilitator, able to design and deliver participatory and deliberative events and workshops of all sizes.Able to lead the overall workforce engagement strategy for a large, complex global function, including shaping and running targeted campaigns, events and projects and responding to ad hoc requirements.Be experienced in leading and operating in a customer-centric, technology-led, or technology-enabled organisation and/or large technology function.Have experience managing a diverse and wide range of stakeholder relationships by matrix and virtually.Be experienced in leading engagement during periods of significant change.Possess gravitas and ability to interact with and coach senior executives.Be able to work within an ambiguous environment, prioritising and reconciling competing demands and resolving complex issues.Able to manage multiple tasks to tight budget and time frames.

The following are an overview of the major challenges for the jobholder:To manage effectively in a matrix organization across diverse stakeholders and geographies.To deliver global Engagement Plans supporting a diverse set of business and functional needs.To deal with a range of complex issues with conflicting and changing priorities.To stay abreast of structural and managerial changes across the organisation.To challenge the status quo with peers across Technology leadership teams, as well as counterparts in GBGFs.To capture, leverage and promote best practice methodologies and tools across WPB, based on lessons learned across WPB teams.

Role Context

Primary reporting relationship is to the WPB Technology Head of Strategy & Governance.Works closely with WPB Technology CIO, COO, People & Culture Lead, Service Line CIOs and Service Line Engagement Leads.Regular interaction with GCB 0-3's both business and technologyScope of function the role will oversee workforce engagement for is c11k FTE, globally.
