Administration Officer

Our client within the field of higher education is seeking a temporary Administration Officer to support their dynamic team.

You will play a crucial role in supporting the postgraduate researcher (PGR) lifecycle and will work closely with senior managers, academics, and PGR administrators across the organisation, providing committee secretarial support and coordinating various initiatives. With your excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, you will oversee the PGR examination process, manage committee meetings, and ensure the consistent implementation of policies and processes.

Working hours for this role are Monday - Friday, 8:45am - 17:00pm.

Rate of pay £16.17ph

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain forms, guides, and webpages for PGRs
  • Oversee the PGR examination process, including thesis receipting and circulation
  • Provide comprehensive committee secretarial support, including preparing agendas and taking minutes
  • Advise on the interpretation of the PGR Code of Practise and associated regulations
  • Monitor and report on PGR submissions and maintain records in SCIMS
  • Provide information and guidance to PGRs, academics, and external examiners
  • Contribute to the delivery of training and key events for PGRs
  • Place orders and manage annual spend for the Doctoral Academy

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar administrative role
  • Quality assurance experience is desirable
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with different stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach
  • Knowledge of higher education processes and regulations is desirable
